- Hidden Treasure
Long ago people hid their money which consisted of golden or silver coins. There is a story told of the Round Rock near Ballcliugin, Murrintown.
About 50 years ago a man named Dan Clancy who lived a quarter of a mile from there and was employed to break stones on the mountain found a crock which was the size of a saucepan. It was amde of copper and contained some silver and gold pieces. After this he became very rich and he showed the strange crock to every one even to the priest of Clearistown - Father O'Brien.- Collector
