  1. A carol for St Stephens Day.
    1st.
    This is St Stephens Day.
    Its feast we solmnize
From him we learn to pardon
    And love our enemies
He was the first Christian martyr
That passed from earth to heaven.
    By suffering hate and envy.
    And injuries of men.
    2nd.
More just than the just able,
    This prince of martyrs died
    His blood not for revenge
    But for godspardon cried
    For fury and for ray.
    He did remission crave.
    For malice he had mercy,
And love for hate he gave.
