  1. When Fr. Murphy and his men were beaten at the battle of Vinegar Hill, three of the Irish soldiers came down toward Wexford.
    They were mad with rage and they said, if they caught any of the soldiers that they would kill them.
    They were so angry that they even went into some of the houses to look for soldiers.
    In one of the houses, they found a soldier and an old woman. The old woman begged them not to kill the soldier, but they would not listen to her.
    They killed the soldier - and also the old woman !
