- In the parish of Piercestown not far from where I live there are the ruins of an old chapel in the middle of a church yard. This grave-yard is still used as burial-ground and the wall facing towards the north and the piece of ground is used for a ball alley.
It is said that one day as they were playing ball that the ball went over the wall and stuck in the ivy. They sent a boy to get the ball and as he was climbing up the wall there was a loose stone.(continues on next page)- Collector
