Wexford - When the boys want to make marbles they go down to a marl hole at the side of the railway and get a mussy substance to make the marbles. It is yellow and they wet it to make it soft so that they can roll it to the shape of the marbles. When soft the marl is wet and rolled in to marbles it is put into a sunny place to dry. But the boys are not as pleased with these as they are with the glass marbles.
