    Tis good to think of youthful days
    Their follies and their joys
    'Tis good to think we're young again
    And roving with the boys
    But many weary years I've seen
    By wind and tempest storm
    Since I enjoyed some happy days
    At the Rock of Carrigbyrne.

    One Summer Sundays afternoon
    The old rock was a sight
    The boys and girls would congregate
    With wild unfeigned delight
    And pass the hours till milking time
    When home they would return
    With baskets filled with fraughans
    From the Rock of Carrigbyrne.
