- 213Bird LoreThe birds that are found in my district are Linnet, Thrush, Blackbird, Cuckoo, Swallow, Bullfinch, Yellow Hammer and Wren.
The Cuckoo and Swallow are migratory. The Cuckoo migrates in July and comes back in April.
The Swallow migrates in September and returns in April. When these birds return it is a sign that Summer is coming and when they migrate it is a sign that Winter is coming.
Some birds build in bushes, others in holes in walls, others in eaves in houses, in fences and on tree tops.
The nests are made of hay, moss, feathers and mud.
According to the size of the birds the eggs are small or big and are very pretty.
The bird sits on the nest for three weeks and then baby birds come out.James Murphy
