- Local Wedding CustomsMr Robert Doyne 's and Mr Dermot Doyne's, Wells, Gorey, Co Wexford were the only two weddings that my father remembers a hauling home at. They drove in carriages from Ferns station to Wells. The men who were working on the farm unyoked two horses at the avenue + drew the carriages from that to the Hall gate. There was a large entertainment at the house that night + all who were there enjoyed themselves. Bonfires blazed on the lawn + rockets were fired from the trees into the air at both weddings.Story obtained by Greta Ryan, Ballinroad, Oulart, Gorey.
