    him to throw over that cake. The tailor did so + the baby ate a lot of it in a second. The old man was in an awful state and thought he would never see the woman back. When he saw the woman coming back the baby asked him "was the ould devil coming yet" + he said she was, so the baby told man to put back the fiddle and he lay down in the cradle. The tailor discovered the baby was a fairy and that if the pot lid was reddened + the baby put on it the real baby would return to its parents. The lid was prepared and when the changling saw it at red heat he went out through the chimney + the real baby was returned to its parents that night
