This story was told to me by my uncle,
James Connell,
Curragh,
Gorey,
Co Wexford.To my home many old people come and sit by the fire-side during the long winter nights and tell ghost stories. Many stories were told to by my uncle Jim. He told me this one and I told it told to the school children.
About two miles or so from Kilanerin school is a place called Ballynestragh the late home of the Esmonde family. In this place is a beautiful pond surrounded by a shrubbery in which are foreign trees. Among them are many walks bordered by green hedges and flowers
During the reign of Sir Thomas Esmonde a ghost was often seen by his(continues on next page)- Collector
