  1. (continued from previous page)
Its the wish of every one of us that when we get the call,
Kilnahue is the harbour where we'll rest.
    IV
Though each "Patron" takes us nearer by the measure of a year
and some of us are bent beneath its load
There is joy as well as sorrow, in the urge that brings us here
For we have sensed our loved ones' spirits on the road
    V
Not a tiny sting of conscience touch the pilgrim here today
No memory of our dead ones cause us pain, as we kneel and pray
And with tender thoughts commune with them again.
    VI
To our emigrants our sympathy, may kind fate their wish fulfil
To be laid beside their loved ones,
'Tis a cursed racial destiny that pursues our peoples still,
That our children find their graves across the foam.
