    Great Mowers.
There was a woman named Mrs. Doyle of Kildavin Co. Carlow, who was a mower. There was a man named Mick Fitzpatrick and he was putting out metal for a road. He asked Mrs. Doyle to send one of the boys for the horse. He mowed with her and she led him (and he was a great mower) all day till evening.
Mick Murphy, called Mick the You-man lived at Ryland Wood, Bunclody. (made vow not to drink) was able to mow an acre of corn in a day.
Men used to come into Bunclody when hired. They brought their own scythe or spade etc.
    forty years ago (1938).
