   My father related this account of
   "Old Houses" to me.
   His address is
   Castle Hill,
   Enniscorthy,
   Co. Wexford.
   Age: 58 years. Born + has lived in Enniscorthy.
   There are many ruins and old houses in this district.
   Many of these houses are still in good condition.
   The following is a description of one of these old houses ;-
   The walls were made of mud and straw and when the mud hardened it was quite strong.
   The roof was thatched with straw which kept the house cool in summer and snug and warm in winter.
   The windows were small and houses possessed very few windows at that time.
   There was very poor, thin glass in these windows and sometimes there were large lumps in the glass, known as "Bull's Eyes". sometimes there was no glass in the
