That we in chaste repose my rest
Father of Mercy hear our cry,
Hear us, O Soul, begotten Son
Who with the Holy Ghost most high reignest
    While endless ages run.

There are four corners of my bed,
    Four Blessed Angels overspread,
    Matthew, Mart, Luke, and John,
God bless this bed that I lie on
If I die before I wake,
I beg to God my soul to keep.
If anything comes to harm me
O, Blessed Virgin Mary, waken me,
The Jews came in with their spear, and spire
And piersed Our Saviour through the heart,
As I looked up, as I looked down
As I looked over the Holy Land,
I saw the Blessed Virgin Mary coming down,
With twelve Mass Books in her hand.
    Twelve candles lighting,
    Twelve priests singing High Mass,
And she on her two bended knees,
Praying to her Blessed and Divine Son,
To open the gates of heaven
