Mr Wm Pierce (See front page) - There on every one of our fields. They are called, The Big Meadow, The Car Road, The Crossroads, Jacks field, The Bog, The Kiln Field, The Alen meadow, The Brow, The Madman's Knock, The Big Knock.
Most of these names explain themselves. A man named Jack lived in a house that is now a ruins in Jack's field.
The kiln field had a lime kiln in it once.
It is said that a madman lived in a cell in a rock in "The Madman's Knock. The cell is still to be seen. There is a well in the same field and it is called "The Mad(continues on next page)- Collector
