    About the time of the above incident there was a man named Coe living in Dawsons his occupation being that of gardener.
    He was the man who shot Fr. Dwyer in the eye as the rebels bore him across the river Slaney.
    The yoemen fired the bullets but it is said that the priest and the rebels returned the bullets.
    When Coe hit Fr. Dwyer in the eye, the priest said that the man who hit him would never rise.
    For the remainder of his life this man was stooped and bent down.

    The family of Dawsons lived in Charlesfort till about twenty years ago.
    Miss Sweetman is the present occupier.
