The well was situated in a field, and a ditch separated it from a big meadow.One day a woman named Mrs. Doyle, went to this well for a can of water. She put down her can in the well, and she was about to draw it up, when she heard a curious noise behind her.
She turned round, and she saw a little man, with a red coat and a green pants, standing behind her. She ran home as fast as she could, and threw her can from her.A few days after this happened, a man named Jim Wilson, went to the well for a bucket of water.
