    piece of wood for each player. There is a little box and a dice and a board of snakes and ladders, and the small pieces of wood. First of all one of the players must throw the dice. At each throw a player advances his counter as many as are indicated by the throw of the dice, which has one spot, to the six marked on its sides; commencing at no.1 and gradually travelling backwards and forwards until the square no.100 is reached. If the counter plays into the square which rises a ladder it is to be carried up to the top of the ladder. If it lands at the head of the snake it is to be carried down to the tail of a snake.
