A horse-shoe is hung inside the door of the dwelling house, and also at the backs of the doors in the outhouses, as a sign of good-luck.
If a person's calf died with the disease called the black-leg, that person would put a leg of the calf up in the roof of the dwelling house, so that none of the rest of his cattle would die of that disease.
A May-altar is dressed in every house in this district during the Month of May in honour of the Blessed Virgin.
St. Patrick's crosses are made the day before St. Patrick's day with a green ribbon and are worn by people on St. Patrick's day. They are worn by men on the hat or cap, and by women on the collar of the coat, and by children on the shoulder. People also wear shamrock on St. Patrick's day.
