    Good Friday
Eggs are marked with a cross by means of soot or a burnt stick on Good Friday. Children put their initials on them, to mark them for themselves on Easter Sunday morning. People visit the church to adore the Cross and to make the Stations of the Cross.
    Hallowe'en
Bracks with rings in them are eaten for supper on Hallowe'en. Whoever gets the ring will be married first. Boxty was also made for the same night. Children played games such as diving for money in basin of water. Catching suspended apples in mouth. Getting the ring, clay or water when blindfolded.
Outside youngsters used to play tricks on their neighbours such as steal wheel of cart, take away gates, pull cabbages in garden, knock at doors, tie something to latch of door, etc.
    Twelve days of Christmas
A big super is provided for Xmas Eve night. Candles are lighted in all windows. Joins or sprees are held in houses here and there during the twelve days.
