“All you that love the Gaelic sport attend both young and old.”
Written on the Foot-Ball Match between Clonfanlough Rangers and Big-Bog in 1919
I
All you that love the Gaelic sport attend both young and old.
I feel it is my duty these lines
for to enfold.
Concerning a great foot-ball match
that you may understand.
Between the Rebels and the Rangers
on Courtney Holmes land.
It was a glorious sight to see, that
day the flags and banners wave.
You would think it was a procession,
to our Irish Martyrs grave.
II
The play began with man to man,
the rebels got the ground.
The match was very much more
wicked than ever yet was found.
The Rebels got it very hard the
goalsman he did say.
Kelly keep the ball kicked out, or
we will lose the day.(continues on next page)- Collector
