- There were two men, named Egan and Flynn gambling one night in Baliuer, Cloghan Offaly. When they were coming home at midnight and as they were passing through the Black wood they were thrown up into the air. When they came down to the ground one of them made the Sign of the Cross and the other man did not. So they came on as far as Hardy's Hill and the man that made the Sign of the Cross was thrown up into(continues on next page)
