- The Potatoes crop
We sow about one and a half acre every year. Jack Kennedy prepares the ground for the potatoes.
Yes the potato ground is manured. The potatoes are sown in drills. The drills are shaped like a letter v. A plough is used for drilling. There are no wooden ploughs now a days. The potatoes are cut into many pieces. The drills are opened for the sowing of the potatoes. The spades are bought in shops.The local people do not help one another now a days.
First of all grub then weed them and then put clay to them again. And then spray them twice or three times.
When sprayed leave them there until October. And then take them out.
And put them in a pit and cover them with clay.
Skerries are sown. golden wonders are most common of all spys of abundance are sowed.
