Legend of the Palm bush in the leap grounds.
At one time during the religious persecution a young lady was about to be thrown down the "murdering hole" in the Leap Castle. She was so terrified at the sight of the "hole" that she jumped from the top of the Castle. There was a small palm bush in front of her. As she was falling the bush opened out its branches and grew up to meet her and enfolded her in its foliage. The girl was never again seen.- Informant

- Priests Rock. Situated on the lands of Mr Dempsey in the Knock beside the Leap. A priest came to say Mass at the rock but was not to start until O'Carroll the local chief should come. The priest waited for some time but O'Carroll was not there. So the priest began(continues on next page)
