  1. The Birr Bellman
Come on ye royal Birr men,
I hope you will draw near, and listen to the strangest tale
    That ever you did hear,
    Concerning Adam Mitchel and Drumhead
Major Trail, who seized upon our bellman and sent him off to jail.
Says Buss Fuss to their worships
    I prosecute Dan Gun
For a gross infraction of the law
Though he might think it fun,
He tied a ribbon round his hat,
    The colour it was green.
And shouted no rack rents to pay
    Though twas against the queen.
Along the street he went and as he went he rang a bell.
And in long ferocious sentences your worship know right well.
