- In Castlemore, near Tullow, there is a very big mound with a lot of trees growing on it. There is a ditch on one side, and a dyke on the other. There is a stile in the wall leading to it. The place is called a rath or home of the fairies. A man coming from Tullow one night went to sleep convenient to this place. He awoke early next morning with the sound of music. He saw a number of small men and women on horse back, sounding bugles, and all going into this mound. He got a peep inside, and saw a man, dressed as a butler, serving all kinds of grand food to them.
