Thatching
There is some thatching done in this district. Thatching is done in the following way. First of all the thatch is made from wheaten straw.
The tools that the thatcher has are a knife for trimming the eaves, shears for clipping the eaves, a thruster for making holes in the thatch shaped in the end like a chisel with a small v in it, rake with four pins in it for raking down the thatch, mallet for hitting down the scollops.- Collector
