- Situated in the valley of Glencree was a fort or rath [?] and in this rath were many Ash, Holly and other bushes.
A good many years ago B- C- cut some of the ash for [firing?].
He stored it up in a shed leaving one large log outside to season.
Next morning on going out he found his shed with the roof fallen in.
Another man of Glencree cut a load of the holly and took it into Dublin at Xmas to sell (as is usual in this valley). He sold it and returned home, put his horse in the stable and went in to his wife with the money but not 1/- could be found from that day to this.
Further on going to the stable next morning he found his horse stone dead.
(This man was T- B-).
Now for the log left out to season, E- M- cut the best part of it and brought it to the [?] of Bray to make felloes for cart wheels.
