The fair of French Furze is held on the twenty-sixth of July. It is an annual fair for horses only. It is situated on the edge of the Curragh and it derives its name from the furze through which the fair is held. There are no shops near this fair, the nearest being the Curragh Camp and therefore this fair brings considerable trade to the town
Dunlavin fair is held on the second Wednesday of each month. The fair is held on the green and extends for some distance down the street. At one time it was a very good fair but it has reduced owing to the absence of many good dealers.
The fair of Ballymore Eustace is held on the second Tuesday of the month. It is for cattle but some times there are no sheep
Naas is a very big fair being held for two days. The pig fair is held on the third Tuesday and the cattle and horses on the day after. It is one of the best fairs of the country and when people don't sell at another fair they try Naas
A monthly fair is held in Blessington on the 13th of each month but if that is on a Sunday(continues on next page)
