    repeated after every churning till the pail was full and a light fitting lid placed on it. Some time ago a pail of butter was found in the Bog of Allen and it was in excellent condition as the lid was airtight. But if the lid was lifted off it would be decayed in five minutes.
    Tea was seldom used at all in days gone by except on a very special occasion such as Eeaster or Christmas. They done a good piece of work each morning before their breakfast and then they had a good appetite.
    These people used to go out to hunt and would not return till night when they would kindle a fire cook some of the game. At that time beer was very cheap and it was possible to get drunk for one shilling. Their food was of no injury to their teeth because it hard and required chewing so there fore it did not adhere to their teeth
    People used to eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday and also pancakes. In some districts this is still the custom
