  1. The name of my home district is Stranahely. There are two families residing in it, namely, Keogh's and Cullen's, consisting of about ten people.
    It got its name from all the little streams that are running to and fro in the fields.
    There are no old people living in my home district. Long ago there were many houses around Stranahely, but the British knocked them down to make roads and ditches, and the people left and got houses built some miles away.
    The old people did not live long after the removal, as it upset them very much, because their heart was in this place where they were born and reared.
    I never heard my home district mentioned in any song or story.
    The land is very good and fertile suitable for sheep grazing.
    A large amount of it is taken up by the Forestry, which gives employment
