    The people of this locality also celebrate Shrove Tuesday. In the evening "pan-cakes" are made and eaten for supper. The "pan-cakes" are from new milk, flour and baking powder mixed together and the mixture is put in a pan and baked with the holly that was put up to decorate the house at Christmas.
