- There is a stone cross by the side of the road between Laragh and Annamoe. It is called Browns Cross. It was erected in 1897. A man named Brown who was driving a bread car was killed there in that year. He was leaving Laragh on a very bad day. At a clap of thunder his horse took fright and threw him to the ground.
He was killed instantly.
There is a grave inside the road ditch between Laragh and Annamoe. At the head of the grave there is a stone cross with strokes and marks on it. The grave is called The Croppies Grave because a man was shot in that place by the Yeomen of '98.- Collector
