- Once upon a time in Glenmalure in County Wicklow a woman had a little baby somehow the fairies took the child and left a child of their own. This child always was crying day and night they could never peacify it.One day the woman had to go to town to do her shopping, leaving only a journeyman tailor, to mind the child. When the woman went away, the child took a straw from the cradle, and started to play music on the straw. When the woman came from town, the tailor told her what happened and advised her to put the child on a shovel and throw it into the river, the woman did so and the child when he(continues on next page)
