bread or cakes in the olden times for instance potato cakes. This is the way in which the potato cakes were made, about a pound of potatoes and a half pound of flour and a little salt and butter, they were all mixed together and wet with milk. Then when it was all mixed it was rolled out flat then cut in three-corner-pieces and fried on a pan.
Long ago people baked their bread on griddles and in pans hung over a fire and coals put on top of the lid of the pan and in this way the bread was made.
