   in Spring. When spring comes they are drawn in to the barn or haggard where the bad ones and the seed and the eating potatoes are sorted
   from each other. So this part of the country
   the corn is sown before the potatoes and the
   potatoes are sown under the manure. But before the sea this is not done because there is
   no frost. The spade with which the potatoes are dug is bought but long ago they were made in
   forges. Wooden ploughs were never used in this district. The farmers help one another in sewing
   the potatoes. Potatoes were used as starch long
   ago but is not now.

   Homemade Toys When my father was a little boy he had very little toys except those he made himself. He used to make whistles from reeds and birch-bark and catapults to throw stones with. He also used to make bows and arrows from seasoned ash sticks and tops were made from empty spools. When my mother was a little girls she used to make cloth dolls and doll's houses from
