- There is a holy well in Tigroney or the House of the Romans. It was there that Palladius built the first church in Ireland. The well is in Mrs Cosgrave's bog. It is called Tubernaclone. It has a big stone and a white thorn over it. On the stone there are foot prints of human beings, and also of animal. People go there and bathe their heads in the water when they have head aches they also drink the water. It is belived they get cured. People from distant places bring the water away with themDec 10th 1937
