    After the big war in 1918 a disease broke out among the people around here. Five or six people died. Nearly every family had it very bad and it was the heaviest illness ever heard of around here.

    About 40 years ago there was a very heavy thunderstorm. Mr.J.Dillon had sheep killed on Ballykillageer Hill. Mrs.A.Byrne had a horse killed the same night. The country could be seen around for miles with the light of the lightening.
    The Northern Lights
    On the 25th january, 1938, people stared heavenwards wondering what was meant by the mysterious glow across the sky. The sky was red tinged with green and yellow.
