Another old custom for baking bread is to put a pot hanging over the fire. Then put the cake in it and put a lid on it and then put burning sticks and coal on top of the lid and when the cake gets brown you turn it. - People used to make bread long ago different to the way they make it now.
Long ago the people used to make bread out of crushed oats and water. They used to have no pans that time and some of them used to leave the cake down on the fire.
