    pay them and they went to live in another house. Mrs. William's husband was a sea - captain and when she left the shop a Mr. Leeson bought it from them. When Mrs. Williams wanted anything on "tick" she used to say "Put this down to Captain Willie". As he had plenty of money and he never liked to part with it and he liked to let his bill run on until the shopkeepers had to collect the money and so whenever people wanted goods on credit they "cant" Put it down to Captain Willie" was used.
