They were not many days gone when the yeomen came one evening inquiring about them but although Mrs Maguire with her two daughters welcomed them and provided them with food, she denied all knowledge of the whereabouts of her husband and her boys.
Soon the entire family found a safe retreat in the home of Edward Dolan Dowra the great grandfather of Eily McGloughlin of Gubaveeney and the progenitor of the Dolans of Carricknagrow and who then owned the townlands of Carricknagrow, Dowra and Kilduff and who generously donated Kilduff to John Maguire and his family where in and around which many of their posterity have since lived.
The Kilduff Maguires are descended from Thady the other brothers probably emigrated.
