- The landlord had rent against Swanlinbar Chapel. The people would not pay it to the landlord, so the landlord was going to burn down the Chapel. The Cavan people would not let him. This was in 1870. Thomas McGoldrick of Cloughhogue Swanlinbar composed a song about it. Here is the song.Ye gentle Muses. I pray excuse me for my intrusion on learning wings,
