- (continued from previous page)Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan. A Pattern used to be held there on the 1st Sunday of August - locally called Tory Hole Sunday but of late years this has ceased.The "Spinks" in the townland of Aughinakelly in a hollow between Northern and Southern Ireland is supposed to contain deposits of coal. The Sliding Rock in Drumchoas, near the house of Mr Patrick McGrory is the name given to a big mass of slippery rock. Young people gather there in the evenings to slide down it. The Falls of Steall - name given to a waterfall coming down the mountain to join a river at the bottom. Drumcondra - The Hill of the Treaty. It adjoins the townland of Derrycleggan - the oak wood of the skulls. Tradition says that there was a battle fought in this locality but I have not been able to trace either battle(continues on next page)
