    And died for the rights of Grannia,
    The White in its beauty for liberty fair,
    The Green for the mantle old Grannia did wear,
    And for to describe it, boys had you been there;
    You would see many thousands in love and affection,
    Unity and peace seemed in every direction,
    The troops came all armed, but none were detected,
    All joined for to gain the reform.

    The drums they did beat, the fifes they did play,
    'Twas God Save Old Ireland and next Patrick's Day,
    You would think 'twas the Hebrews when they crossed the Red Sea,

    While linnets sang the new Reform.

    To Farnham's wild deserts where none dare oppose us,
    We raised the green shamrock; pulled down the English roses,
    While "lillying a bait" with the laurel,
    For when we left Cavan the trumpet did sound,
    Ye old Jerry walls of Farnham came down,
    I heard Cavan Brunswickers fled from the town,
    While his beef eating saints with their brogues and their bonnets
    Made an adieu complaint to Lord Farnham 'Look on us'.
