I would venture to say that in Europe this day,
She appeared like an Empress or Queen.
For her eyes they were blue and her heart it was true
And the tears they kept falling like rain
Alas! She did cry. I fear I shall die
For by gallant brave Knight of Drumlane.

As she rose from the ground where she sat herself down
She bedowed the cold earth with her tears
As her hero so brave, came to take his last 'Cave'
And to bid a farewell to his dear
She says my dear boy, you're the 'Hector of Troy'.
My heart you have bound in love's chain
Can you be so unkind, as to leave me behind
And forsake your own love in Drumlane.He says, 'My dear Jane, it gives me great pain
To forsake my own comrades and you
Tjo' love bids me stay, and not go away;
Sweet Liberty bids me pursue
But when Freedom's bud cell, joins Irishmen all
and Dan sends his voice oe'r the main;
You shall see your brave Knight in his armour so bright,
