The farmer sprinkles it around the fort, so as to give to the fairies the first milk of the newly calved cow. This is supposed to prevent the fairies from playing tricks on the cow.
Beistings is supposed to contain a certain amount of curative properties. A plaster of beistings is supposed to be a good cure for external cancer.- Collector
