    Crickets.
    There is a belief that it is unlucky to kill or interfere in anyway with crickets. If a cricket is killed deliberately, others will come and destroy all the clothes in the house especially if near the hearth.
    1st January
    Something should be taken in before anything is left out on this day.
    1st May
    Ashes shouldn't be taken out or milk lent.
    Sunday
    Outhouses should not be cleaned out, a man shouldn't shave nor is is it thought lucky to clean and polish boots or shoes.
    1st April
    Do not set potatoes, or "you'll be the whole year putting them down."
    Friday
    A lucky day to begin anything.
