  1. In every house long ago there was a greater. In the harvest every woman made boxty. First they got some raw potatoes and grated them on the grater. Then the potatoes were put in a strainer and the water strained off them. They were then mixed with some boiled potatoes and flour and shaped into a cake and placed into an oven over a brisk fire.
