That night shall be remembered until our days on earth are oer. The night was dark, cold blew the wind and thickly fell the rain.
We lost the pride of Ardleny at the end of the long Lane.This ancient bush of Ardleny stood many a blast of wind.
I stood the fearful storm in the year of 39.
It was many a hundred years of age that old and ancient tree.
It was given down form sire to son the bush of Ardleny. Our fore-fathers oft the story told in years of long ago.
