There is a picturesque view from this fort as it overlooks a river flowing through a green valley. It is situated in a very elevated position and commands a splendid view of Bruise Hill, Maghera Church, the school, Lough Ramor, Virginia with Murmed Hill behind it and Slieve-na-Cailleac. Several townlands can be viewed by a person standing there and many forts can also be seen.
